According to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Philippine Consulate General in Milan and the DOT recently launched the two-month ad campaign with a travel trade and media briefing on board one of the trams wrapped in “More Fun in the Philippines” brand.
“I believe that this tram project will go a long way in promoting the Philippine brand to our Italian friends,” Consul General Marichu Mauro said.
The participants to the event not only learned about the Philippines but were treated to a feast of Filipino food and the Filipino brand of hospitality with no less than Yum Taste of the Philippines, a Filipino fine dining restaurant in Milan cited as one of the Best Ethnic Restaurants in the Lombardy Region by Gambero Rosso, the leading restaurant and food guide authority in Milan.
The Philippines has every reason to celebrate and to intensify our market presence in Italy. Based on the latest arrival report, Italy posted the highest growth rate of 28 percent in terms of travel to the Philippines among all our major markets in Europe.
