Philippines receives P117 Million for Japan Scholarship

The grant aid provides a fund amounting to 264 million yen (approximately 117 million pesos*) to cover 20 JDS fellows, consisting of Filipino young officials from various governmental institutions, entering Japan starting Academic Year 2017-2018.

The project aims to enhance the JDS fellows’ expertise in their respective fields such as Financial Reform, Investment and SME Promotion Policy, Public Policy, Transportation Infrastructure and Peace and Stability in Mindanao.

The project is also aimed at helping build a pool of future Filipino leaders who will greatly contribute to the country’s overall economic development by returning to and working in the Philippines.
