Guimaras is the Guinness World Record holder for having the sweetest mango in the world. It houses more than 50,000 mango trees.

It is said that mangoes from this region are the only ones allowed and served in the White House in the U.S and Buckingham Palace in England. The National Mango Research Development Center in the municipality of San Miguel in Guimaras has facilitated more advanced mango production and technology that helped increase productivity among small-scale mango growers in the region.

In the Philippines, mango is the 3rd biggest exported fruit after pineapple and banana. 80% of the export is composed of the Carabao variety, which Americans refer to as the “champagne mango”.
